Federal President Horst Köhler visits an UBoat oft he German Navy

In the course of his regional visit to the Federal State of Schleswig-Holstein the then Federal President Horst Köhler visited on 17th of August 2008 also the German Navy at Eckernförde. At the Naval Base he embarked on the Type 212A UBoat "U-33" and witnessed an hour long under water operation. Afterwards, the President ex-pressed how much he was impressed by the technical design of the UBoat and the skill of its crew. A picture of the visit is presented at www.bundespraesident.de.
